About Kiuchi Brewery
Founded in 1823, Kiuchi Brewery originally produced sake “Kikuzakari” in Naka City, Ibaraki Prefecture. In 1996, the brewery expanded into craft beer production with Hitachino Nest Beer, and in 2007, the Nukada Brewery became its dedicated beer production site.
Today, Hitachino Nest Beer produces approximately 3,000 kiloliters of beer annually, with 50% exported to over 40 countries worldwide.
Ibaraki Prefecture was once known for its beer barley production, and Kiuchi Brewery has revived the legendary “Kaneko Golden” barley, a rare Japanese variety. The brewery is also actively cultivating hops, continuing to innovate by utilizing local resources in their brewing process.

How to Join the Tour & About the BAR BUS
Currently, general brewery tours are not available to the public. However, you can join the tour by participating in the exclusive “BAR BUS HITACHINO” experience.

BAR BUS HITACHINO is an innovative bus tour with a built-in bar, offering an exclusive trip to Kiuchi Brewery’s beer, whisky, and sake production sites.
Tour Itinerary
📍 Akihabara (9:30 check-in / 10:00 departure) → Stop at Moriya SA for bar time → Visit Yasato Distillery, home of Hinomaru Whisky & enjoy a light lunch → Stop at Tomobe SA for bar time → Visit Nukada Brewery, the production site of Hitachino Nest Beer → Visit Konosu Brewery, Kiuchi Brewery’s sake production site → Dinner at “Kura + Soba Nakaya” → Tour ends at Tsukuba Station (arrival at 19:30).
