Factory Tour at Karuizawa Brewery in Nagano Prefecture
In this post, I’ll be introducing the Karuizawa Brewery factory tour, located in Saku City, Nagano Prefecture, famous for its Karuizawa Beer.
I will share my experience of the tour and beer tasting when I visited in November 2024.

About Karuizawa Beer
Brewed using the famous spring water of Asama Mountain in Karuizawa, Nagano, this beer is known for its refreshing finish and smooth drinkability, making it enjoyable glass after glass. Officially named “THE Karuizawa Beer,” it is classified as a craft beer.
Factory Tour
Karuizawa Brewery is one of the largest craft beer factories in Japan, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities where you can observe the beer-making process.
You can also view the artwork by Hiroshi Senju, which is featured on their beer packaging.
Beer Tasting
You can enjoy one glass of draft beer and receive a souvenir bottle (1 or 2 bottles, depending on the option).
The three available beers include regular and seasonal varieties, which may change depending on the time of your visit.
Additionally, you can pay extra to enjoy a second glass of beer.
Price
The tour costs 500 yen per person.
Reservation Method
Reservations can be made via the website. For same-day reservations, you can call (0120-919-144) or, if there is availability, make a reservation at the factory reception.
The tour is available 5 times a day.
